Today we moved from Nelson Bay to Sydney. I could have stayed for a week in Nelson Bay, it was so relaxing. We stopped to shop in Salamander Bay before we hit the highway towards Sydney. Both Alice and Lennart needed, and found new shoes. We had a quick pitstop on the way, thought we were going to a KFC, but it turned out to only be a drive-through. So we grabbed a sandwich and a soft drink at the gas station next to it. Good place, Lennart even found glue to repair his broken sandals there :) Also I saw more hippies than I've seen since last time I watched Hair, I think. Seems to be a style, or way of living here, more so than in Europe perhaps. The traffic was rather heavy, and we arrived in Sydney around 2 pm. Now we are in an apartment in charming Kirribilli, Alice found this place on Airbnb and the view from the balcony is nothing but spectacular. We have perfect view of Harbour bridge and the city center. Truly amazing! Had we been here for New Years Eve we would have had a perfect view of the fireworks, on the other hand we would also have paid about 7 times the price we now pay.

| Alice, Christina and Lennart at Milson point |
We went to the closest tram station to get travel cards, we are rather close to Milson point, and the train takes us over the bridge and straight into the city center. We went off at Town Hall and walked to Darling quarters where we had dinner. I tried the barramundi fillet, a dish that appears on many menus. It was quite alright, but honestly not very special. Unlike the desserts. We went to the Guylian café to have chocolate desserts. They had a fantastic choice of desserts, most of them with Belgian chocolate of course. Even Lennart enjoyed the chocolate mousse that was part of today's dessert, and normally he does not like that type of texture. I got to pour hot chocolate sauce on a chocolate dome that melted and revealed a core of passion fruit ice cream. Yummy! When we got back to Kirribilli the area outside the station was full of people eating in different small restaurants in the neighborhood. We will only be here for two nights, but feel we happened to find a really good location. Tomorrow awaits shopping and sightseeing.
